Community Engagement Calendar

Beyond the concert program, the Sonus3 Tour will make a significant contribution to the social, cultural, educational, and community lives of people living in regional centres and remote communities across the Kimberley through the community engagement program. The Tour will engage with communities through a schools workshop/presentation program which will deliver primary and high school students content from the tour, the expertise of all the artists, interactive processes, and performance with music students.

Keep updated on local activities via Tura Facebook and News as well as on locally-led community Facebook noticeboards.

The Two-Way Process

Tura’s Regional Touring Program is committed to community engagement that draws on an 20-year history of connection and shared learning. From interactive school workshops to collaborations with local artists as well as cultural exchanges with Traditional Owners, the Sonus2 Tour is very much a two-way process with touring artists being powerfully influenced by the people and places they meet and experience.

Tura’s Regional Touring Program in 2017, the Echo Tour, spoke to Ngalangangpum School in Warmun about the importance of maintaining a consistent relationship with the children, and Kununurra District High School about inspiring kids through music, made possible through the support of the Act-Belong-Commit message.
